About this venue
Summer Fields school is one of our most impressive sites. With 70 acres of outdoor space, the campus combines both exceptional indoor and outdoor facilities, which suits our Young Engineers camp perfectly! As well as stunning and expansive fields, which allow our young engineers to carry out engineering projects outside, there is also a modern Salata Pavilion, completed in 2015, which has gorgeous wood floors and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, which allows for indoor activities and provides fantastic views of the beautiful site. There are also extensive classrooms in the school’s main buildings.
This is an enchanting place for students to escape to during the holidays, and a perfect place for the invention and imagination that takes place during our engineering camps!
We also run Active Camps and Active Adventure at this location.
Young Engineers Activities
Our Young Engineers Camps provide students (ages 6-14) with a captivating introduction to engineering concepts through fun and hands-on activities. With a blend of indoor and outdoor projects, children will engage in sessions such as building models and utilizing Lego to understand concepts such as circular motion.
To bring this engaging program to life, Oxford Active has collaborated with Young Engineers, an organization recognized by the European Union Commission and The Harvard School of Education. Young Engineers operates in over 60 countries and has reached 50,000 students globally. This project was started in reaction to the shortage of engineers in the workforce and the mission is to ignite curiosity and show children the joys of invention, building and big ideas!
With plenty of teamwork activities, this is also a fantastic opportunity for students to socialise and make meaningful friendships. Our friendly camp leaders are enthusiastic about welcoming every child!
Young Engineers camps are specially designed programs that operate during school holidays, for children in aged 6-14. These diverse camp programmes offer a wide range of activities, from experiments and arts and crafts to building exciting models. These activities uniquely combine STEM learning with interactive social games, providing an engaging and educational experience for all participants.
Each 3-day course costs £180 per child. This fee includes drop-off starting at 8:15 AM and pick-up until 6 PM each day.

A flavour of the kind of activities we run at camps in an example timetable...
Oxford Active is excellent at Summerfields school. My children find the days are full of fun and pass quickly. Plenty of fresh air and outdoor exercise. They are put in bubbles with their friends and the staff so welcoming!

We absolutely love Active Camps. They are so welcoming and take time to get to know the children, hand overs usually come with a cheery story or funny occasion that happened during the day. Kids always come out with handfuls of crafts, baking or some other creation!
Jess Mackenzie
My daughter really loves Oxford Active Camps - she looks forward to them for weeks in advance, and is always full of excitement at the end of the day, keen to tell me all about the fun she's had and the friends she's made.
